Wild Beer – Millionaire 4.7% Chocolate and Salted Caramel Milk Stout
It is jet black, as dark as ink and the body matches this also. There was quite nice carbonation on the pour which settled down to a thin lacey head within a few seconds, but what really caught my eye was the head . It reminded me of a mochochino, there was a tie-dye effect going on with the infusion of malts and this is something I have not seen before. It smells of dark fruits, bacon, chocolate and burnt coffee, this has definitely caught my attention!
There is a first for everything, that is absolutely delicious! It tastes like an amped up mochachino. Burnt coffee, a little liquorice, caramel biscuits, milk chocolate, brown sugar and figs, each of them recognizable separately but they also blend into a very tasty stout. The taste is a lot more prominent than the nose, if the nose was a little more enticing, this could possibly be the finest stout I’ve ever had.
Wild Beer print very boldly on their bottles what to expect from their beers, a lot of the time for brewery’s this can be a misrepresentation, but for Wild Beer, they always have it right on the nose. It is a lot different to other salted caramel stouts I have had, it is like a juiced up version, very close to an imperial stout without the alcohol volume. Well done Wild Beer, well done.
